From the President
Thank you for being patient during this busy transition. I am trying to get every issue seen and set up course of action to resolve them. This will be a process and I am committed to this 100%. I will be utilizing this website for all negotiation updates and all other messages to the membership. Please tell all coworkers to sign up.
Union Strong
We are steadily taking back our union stronghold. Leadership has taken too much from us, and it stops now. I have been waging my battles and winning. It is a long process because of their fear tactics, but we will not back down. They can have the office and keep my wages down, the payday will be when we are all respected and we have no outside companies doing our work.
Socail Media
Please be careful about what you post on social media or hear on social media. It is hard to regulate who is on personal pages.
Grievances
Please continue to contact Stewards or the office if you see leadership doing our work. This is one way they continue to keep staffing at a minimum.
Stewards Needed: The Local is in need of Union Stewards to represent our members. At Flint alone, we have 15 open slots to cover all 3 shifts. The Local will not be successful without members stepping up to help run this union. Council 25 is preparing training as we speak and all we need is names.Open Board Positions: There are open Executive Board positions reserved for McLaren Lapeer, McLaren Home Group, McLaren Medical Group, and 1 at large, also 2 Trustee positions. If you are interested, please submit your name and position interested in using the Contact Us link. Through the Local Constitution, the Board can appoint for the remaining term of office.9 Ways To Kill A Union!!!
(1) Don’t come to meetings. (2) But if you do come … come late. (3) If the weather doesn’t suit you … don’t come. (4) If you do attend a meeting find fault with the work of the officers and members. (5) Never accept an office. It’s easier to criticize. (6) Nevertheless, get angry if you are not appointed on a committee, but if appointed, do not attend the committee meetings. (7) If asked by the leadership to give your opinion on an issue, you say nothing, then tell what should have been done. (8) Do no more than is absolutely necessary, but when others assist say the Union is being run by a clique. (9) Don’t bother about new members … let others do it.
